Mosaic in Florida
While Mosaic's phosphate mining and fertilizer operations are of critical importance to the food supply, we're equally committed to our role as stewards of Florida's environment.
Beyond our commitment to environmental sustainability, we embrace a high level of engagement in the communities where we live and work. In fact, The Mosaic Company and The Mosaic Company Foundation donated more than $10.6 million to organizations serving Hillsborough, Polk, Manatee, Hardee, DeSoto, Sarasota and Charlotte counties during the fiscal year ended May 31, 2013. For more than a century, Florida’s phosphate industry has been a major economic driver for the Tampa Bay and Central Florida region through employment, taxes and charitable contributions. Mosaic directly employs more than 3,200 Floridians and supports tens of thousands of additional jobs in related fields. Click here for a summary of our economic impact in Florida.
