Another Success: Give to the Max Day

Sample Pic With the help of The Mosaic Company, Second Harvest Heartland received the most donations—$340,000—and the most individual donors—more than 2,000—during this year’s Give to the Max Day, held November 16. As a result, Second Harvest Heartland also received the “most successful nonprofit” bonus of $10,000.

This year, Mosaic matched $100,000 in gifts to Second Harvest Heartland, Minnesota’s largest emergency food network, and covered all transaction fees for the first $100,000 donated. Second Harvest Heartland works to reinvent hunger relief through leadership and innovation, which ties directly back to Mosaic’s mission to help the world grow the food it needs.

Give to the Max Day was created to increase giving to nonprofits across the state, and this year over $10 million was raised by more than 40,000 people. All donations on Give to the Max Day are made through, a first-of-its-kind giving website that helps Minnesotans discover, support and engage with nonprofits. The online portal greatly reduces fundraising and banking costs for nonprofits and allows donors to manage their charitable giving by recording online contributions and storing receipts.
