Sample Pic In early March, heavy rainfall and resulting floods caused serious damage in Brazil. The damage was extensive, heavily affecting housing, roads and agricultural areas. Paranaguá, home to two Mosaic facilities and more than 400 employees, was one of the affected areas.

In response to the crisis, Mosaic donated food, water, mattresses, and cleaning and hygiene products to the local Red Cross for immediate distribution to those most affected by the flooding. The Mosaic Institute, Mosaic’s charitable foundation in Brazil, will also make a $75,000 donation to the Paranaguá government. This donation will support the city’s recovery, including the reconstruction of bridges, street repairs and the cleaning of the city’s drainage system.

“These funds will make a direct and positive impact on the infrastructure that was most affected by the flooding,” said Tobias Grasso, country manager and chairman of the Mosaic Institute Board.  “We are committed to supporting the recovery efforts in Paranaguá in the months to come.”
