The Mosaic Company’s $1 million match contribution will kick off a campaign to raise money for expansion and upgrades at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. The company will match, dollar-for-dollar, money raised in and around the community, up to $1 million.

“Esterhazy’s an important part of the Mosaic family,” said Kelvin Dereski, general manager of Mosaic’s Esterhazy operations. “Not only do we have a long history here, we have a strong commitment to the future. And living in rural Saskatchewan, we know that means supporting our community with infrastructure and ensuring quality health care for our employees, their families and everyone in the southeast corner of the province.”

“Mosaic has been an important employer and supporter of this community for years, so we were extremely thankful for their support and commitment to get this campaign off the ground,” said Lawrence Chomos, chair of St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation.

Mosaic recently announced a $5.5 million donation to the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) helicopter program in Saskatchewan, which is expected to use St. Anthony’s in Esterhazy as one of its transport sites. In addition, Mosaic’s $4 million underwriting of the campaign to raise funds for Saskatchewan’s first and only children’s hospital in Saskatchewan demonstrates the company’s commitment to the province.
