Mosaic & Employees Contribute $3.6 Million for United Way

The Mosaic Company’s 2012 United Way fundraising campaign theme—“Sustaining Our Roots”—focused on our ongoing commitment to invest in and strengthen communities where we live and work.

Thanks to the generosity of our North America employees, we surpassed our 2012 United Way campaign goal by six percent—achieving $1.8 million in pledges. With the addition of matching funds from The Mosaic Company Foundation, our total campaign contribution this year resulted in $3.6 million—a new Mosaic record.

This reflects a nine percent increase in individual contributions over last year’s results, an industry-leading participation rate of 71 percent and average gift of $514. “I want to specifically recognize the hundreds of employee volunteers who dedicated their time and talent to this year’s campaign,” says Jim Prokopanko, Mosaic President and CEO. “Your creative energy provided the momentum needed to achieve our goals. Thank you for your leadership.”

As the largest charity in the world, United Way offers global reach with local expertise, and addresses the root causes of poverty. Each year, approximately one in six people receive help from United Way and its community partners in the areas of education, income and health.

Mosaic’s continued support ensures that United Way and their partner agencies can continue creating positive, lasting change in our communities.
