Emergency rescue teams from Colonsay, Belle Plaine, Esterhazy K1 and K2 impressively put their skills and training on display in front of their fellow employees, families and spectators during last weekend's Saskatchewan Mining Association's 49th Annual Emergency Response/Mine Rescue Skills Competition.

Mosaic once again had solid performances, including three winners: Esterhazy K1, Overall Underground Winner; Belle Plaine, Practical Skills Surface Winner; and Esterhazy K1 Practical Skills Underground Winner.

Runner-up performances included Belle Plaine, Fire Fighting Surface and Problem-Surface categories; Esterhazy K1, Problem-Underground and Proficiency-Underground categories; and Esterhazy K2, First Aid Underground.

These team members are prepared to respond at a moment's notice to a potentially dangerous situation to help their colleagues and communities when they need it most.
