Since 1941, the John T. Ryan Award is presented to Canadian mining companies who have achieved the lowest reportable injury frequency per 200,000 hours worked in a calendar year. During this year's Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) Convention, held last week in Montreal, our very own K1 was honored with the Canada Trophy for Select Mines.

"I would like to congratulate the K1 team for being recognized as the safest mine in Canada," said Dustin Maksymchuk, General Manager - Esterhazy. "This is due to your dedication every day to managing risks to yourself and looking out for each other. Thank you."

This is the second year in a row K1 has received this award. The Potash business unit and Mosaic as a global company are proud of the site for this accomplishment and recognition. By keeping safety top of mind, we are on track for another year of exceptional safety performance.
