Your Questions and Our Answers

Questions from the community are very important to us. Mosaic Fertilizer will be using the New Wales web page to answer frequently asked questions.

Q: Neighbors have been asking Mosaic Fertilizer to explain what we are referring to when we discuss the confining layer.

A: The confining layer is a geologic formation composed of clay, sand/gravel and limestone. The Hawthorne Formation confining layer separates the surficial and intermediate aquifers. Remediation efforts are focusing on sealing the base of the sinkhole in this confining layer.
