The Mosaic Company Reports Second Quarter 2017 Results
 
The Mosaic Company (NYSE: MOS) today reported second quarter 2017 net income of $97 million, compared to a net loss of $10 million in the second quarter of 2016. Earnings per diluted share were $0.28, which included a negative impact of $0.01 from notable items. Mosaic's net sales in the second quarter of 2017 were $1.8 billion, up from $1.7 billion last year, with higher sales volumes offsetting lower phosphates realized prices.

Mosaic celebrated the much-anticipated grand opening of the new Mosaic Center at the Florida Aquarium on Thursday, May 11, 2017. Latest News About 5/23/16 Incident at Mosaic’s Riverview Facility
 
Late this afternoon, a fire was detected within a sulfur storage tank located at Mosaic's Riverview Facility. The tank's fire suppression system activated and Hillsborough Fire Rescue was called to assist. As a precaution, employees at the facility are sheltering in place while crews work to extinguish the fire. In accordance with the facility's emergency response plan, Mosaic immediately began monitoring for sulfur dioxide (or SO2) emissions at the property line. At this time, results are well within government standards.

The Mosaic Company Honored 129 Local Contract Partners for Outstanding Safety Performance in 2015
 
Mosaic honored 129 Florida contract partners for their exemplary safety records during the company’s ninth annual Contractor Safety Recognition Luncheon on April 26, 2016 at Streamsong Resort in Polk County. Olives Thrive at Mosaic
 
Three years ago Mosaic Corporation partnered with the Florida Olive Council to install an olive test grove on reclaimed phosphate mine land near Bartow, FL. The purpose was to research an alternative crop for the struggling citrus industry and support local farmers. The Florida Olive Council Report tracks the progress of the varieties.

Mosaic Announces Phosphate Production Curtailments
 
In response to current crop nutrient market conditions, The Mosaic Company (NYSE:MOS) announced today the Company will reduce production in its Phosphates business. The Company intends to reduce production by up to 400,000 tonnes with rotating plant shutdowns in the first quarter of 2016.

Mosaic Provides 700 Meals to Gibsonton Elementary Students During Winter Break
 
Mosaic partnered with Feeding America Tampa Bay to distribute holiday meals to students and their families at Gibsonton Elementary School. Bags were distributed to 700 students from low-income families that include ham, roast beef, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and green beans.

Mosaic Fertilizer, LLC, a subsidiary of The Mosaic Company (NYSE: MOS), today announced that it has reached settlements with federal and state environmental agencies to resolve claims about how the company has managed certain onsite waste materials at its fertilizer manufacturing facilities in Florida and Louisiana. The RCRA settlement with the EPA includes Mosaic's contribution of $630 million of cash into trust as financial assurance to support the closure and long-term care of its phosphogypsum stack systems.

Peaceful Horse Ranch Property in DeSoto County Transferred to the State of Florida
 
Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam announced that 4,414 acres donated by Mosaic in southwest Desoto County were recently transferred to the state of Florida. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services' Florida Forest Service has been designated as the land managing agency for the property -- which will be used as working lands, veterans and youth activities, water quality research, etc.

Mosaic Converts Truck Fleet to Clean-Burning Compressed Natural Gas
 
A new compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station built by TrilliumCNG officially opened in Tampa today to support The Mosaic Company’s contract fleet of trucks. It is also the first CNG station in Hillsborough County open to the public. Today’s ribbon-cutting ceremony completed a process started in 2012 when Mosaic began planning the conversion of the contract truck fleet serving its manufacturing operations to compressed natural gas.

Citrus Harvested in Sarasota For the Hungry
 
A recent 133-acre citrus grove purchase by Sarasota County has helped families facing hunger throughout Florida. Mosaic Mobile Exhibit Welcomes 80,000th Visitor at Agri-Fest
 
BARTOW, Fla. – While on tour at the 25th Annual Polk County Agri-Fest, The Mosaic Company ushered in the 80,000th visitor to its mobile phosphate experience, The Mosaic Express (aka “Big MoE”). Delilah Martinez, a Palmetto Elementary fourth grader and the unsuspecting winner, received a gift basket full of educational goodies upon entry.

More than 500 other local elementary students visited The Mosaic Express during Agri-Fest in the past week. The mobile exhibition contains nearly 10 interactive exhibits where students can push buttons and pull levers as they learn about the phosphate industry.

Foundation Donates $3.2 Million to Expand Robinson Preserve
 
A capital campaign to raise $8.9 million to expand the Robinson Preserve in Manatee County is underway, thanks to a $3.2 million gift from The Mosaic Company Foundation to the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast, a not-for-profit land trust.

As part of the campaign, the Conservation Foundation acquired and placed a conservation easement on 150 acres of land next to the existing 487-acre Robinson Preserve, which is located in Northwest Bradenton on the shores of Tampa Bay. The land was then conveyed to Manatee County – expanding the Robinson Preserve to 637 acres.
