Sulfuric Acid

Sulfuric (or sulphuric) acid, H2SO4, is a strong mineral acid. It is soluble in water at all concentrations. Sulfuric acid has many applications, and is produced in larger amounts than any other chemical. Mosaic's production is voluntary. Production occurs through the burning of elemental sulphur and several exothermic reactions which generate heat, steam and electricity in the production process. Mosaic's sulfuric acid is registered through ANSI/NSF-60 for use in drinking water, and is sold in 98% and 93% concentrations.
