Our Commitment to Stewardship and Conservation
Mosaic is focused on full-scale operational excellence. This includes managing resources wisely and conserving energy for maximum efficiency. Our commitment to environmental stewardship spans a range of topics that are critical to the success of our organization, the customers and farmers we serve worldwide and the communities where we live and work.
Environmental stewardship is important for many reasons. Mosaic employees live and work in the same communities where our products are mined, produced and applied. We breathe the same air, drink the same water, and enjoy the same natural beauty and resources.
Not only is environmental stewardship the ethical approach — it also makes good business sense. When we are good stewards of land, air, water and habitat, we reap the added rewards of operational cost control, sustained competitive advantage and an enhanced reputation for industry leadership.
Everyone at Mosaic is expected to be mindful of the environment and natural resources. Management's role is to ensure an overall program of environmental responsibility and safety, with effective policies and procedures, and that is available to our people.
Our Environmental Team is led by Mosaic's Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S), who reports to the Executive Vice President of Operations. Each business unit has a senior manager for environmental affairs. This manager reports to Mosaic's EH&S function and is supported by a dedicated team of full-time environmental professionals.
