Analyst Day - Chapter 3

Analyst Day: Focus on Our Responsibility and Grow and Strengthen Our Product Portfolio

THIRD OF FOUR SESSIONS DIGS DEEPER INTO OUR STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
December 15, 2020

Recently, Joc O’Rourke, President and CEO, Ben Pratt, Senior Vice President- Government and Public Affairs, Walt Precourt, Senior Vice President – Strategy and Growth, and Jenny Wang, Vice President – Global Strategic Marketing, took part in the third of four virtual strategic sessions for analysts and investors. This series is a replacement for Mosaic’s traditional analyst day and provides a deeper look into each of our six strategic priorities. The third event focused on the strategic priorities “Grow and Strengthen Our Product Portfolio” and “Act Responsibly” which were presented by Walt and Ben, respectively. A replay of the webcast is available here.

“In the most basic sense, acting responsibly is about our license to operate,” Ben explained as he highlighted Mosaic’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance targets, “We have to be a good corporate citizen to continue to operate in the communities where we live and work.” Mosaic continues to lead the industry in sustainability and transparency efforts. In 2009, we were the first in the industry to publish sustainability disclosures and earlier this year Mosaic developed aggressive ESG performance targets focused on four main areas: People, Society, Environment, and Company.

Walt reinforced that our focus on soil health is a natural extension of Mosaic’s strong portfolio of crop nutrients. “As part of our strategy, we continue to evaluate new and enhanced products,” Walt explained, “In addition to building out our pipeline with internally supported work, we’ve signed agreements with innovative companies for licensing and co-development of the next generation of crop nutrition products.” Examples include the launch of Mosaic's Sus-TerraTM fertilizer and our newly announced partnership with BioConstoria. Walt summarized, “providing sustainable, balanced crop nutrition is what we do. We believe that growing our product portfolio with addition of complementary products—including biologicals—is a way to help both our customers and Mosaic be more profitable.”

The previous two chapters are available on the newly launched Investor website. The last session will be held on March 11, 2021 and will focus on “Optimize Operating Assets and Capital Management” with Joc O’Rourke and Clint Freeland, Senior Vice President and CFO.
